  WHAT’S NEXT FOR GREAT IFE STUDENTS? It is no longer a news that the great Ife students were not totally affected by the national ASUU strike due to division of the school system which is the CONUA (Congress University Academics) and ASUU (Academic Staff Union Of Universities part) A good number of students especially those that falls under faculty of science have been receiving lectures and has even gone as far completing their test for the semester while some students are yet to receive any class for the semester at all. With all this chaos going on with the academic part of the school, the struggle and the sports part of the school seems not to be lying idle also, according to some of the claims of the students. 2022 FRESHERS DEBATE

  Day 2 of the Fresher’s orientation week started with an opening prayer, in which the national anthem and the school anthem follow respectively. The programme which was a courtesy of the office of the vice-president student union was an interfaculty Pick and Talk/debate which took place at Oduduwa hall. Following the opening of speech was the introduction of all faculty leaders and students union after which all faculties were introduced to the audience. The introduction of Judges follow immediately during which the MC of the programme expresses his satisfaction at the presence of the judges on ground “even though some were yet to arrive the table still look balance” he said. Representatives from all faculties were introduced to the audience, after which the modalities of the debate were stated by one of the judges.   “THERE IS BARELY ANY HOPE INSIGHT FOR ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES TO HOLD UNTIL JUNE 2022” IFE STUDENT UNION REVEALED After the declaration of ASUU strike which is being extended by 8 more weeks, the great Ife student union has made a release on Tuesday March 15  stating their position on the strike.   Making a recall on the 2020 incidence which started up with COVID-19 pandemic, before ASUU strike joined the chaos, it was stated that the ASUU dealt a big blow to the education, as it started the same way it is starting at the moment and with the recent extension of the strike, there is barely any hope in sight for academic activities to hold until June 2022 when there is no even certainties that the strike would have ended by then.
