The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, takes delivery of the first batch

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, on Thursday took delivery of the first batch of six A-29 Super Tucano aircraft from the U.S.
The arrival of the much-awaited fighter aircraft rises hopes of Nigerians for the end of Boko Haram and banditry ravaging the North East and North West respectively.
According to Intelligence Aerospace website, the A-29 Super Tucano turboprop aircraft can be used to carry out various missions, including close air support and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, ISR.
It says the Super Tucano is equipped with advanced electronic, electro-optic, infrared, and laser system technologies, as well as secure radio systems with data links and munitions capacity. It is well suited for a wide range of military missions, even operating from unpaved runways and in hostile environments.
The Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, announced this in a statement in Abuja.
According to Mr Gabkwet, the aircraft arrived Kano, at about 12.34 p.m.
He added that the officials that received the aircraft included the minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi; Chief of Army Staff Lt.- Gen. Faruk Yahaya; and Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Oladayo Amao.

NO CURFEW, EVERYTHING REMAINS INTACT IN LAGOS SAYS DR(MRS) JOKE SANWO-OLU

The wife of  Lagos State Governor, Dr( Mrs) Joke Sanwo-olu has taken to alert the general public contrary to misinformation  that curfew has not been announced in Lagos  State. She said "The state Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu dropped the idea of imposing a curfew in the state meant to allow the fumigation exercise of public space." Relying on expert advice the Governor said the disinfectant is non toxic, noting that the exercise has commenced. He said: I'm pleased to note that we have taken possession of over 200 disinfecting machines, and starting today, we will be disinfecting all major highways, bus stops, markets, parks and other public areas."                              The demise of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who was said to have died    April 22, 2022 at Afe Babalola Multi-System Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, AMSH has thrown the Yoruba race into mourning.
