COMMOTION AS LECTURER MISTREATED STUDENT
Prof Rufus A. Ajisafe who is the current vice dean of social sciences, was taken a class in the 11th hour of Thursday morning period at ODLT. His class which was schedule to end by 12:00pm was distracted as students of EGL 206 who were to write a one hour text in that hour(12-1) of the day start entering the class four minutes early to their class.
This act infuriated the lecturer and after ordering them to leave the class claiming that his time wasn’t up, he started droving the students out of the class and as at three minutes past 12 he was still in the class and has already hit about two students on the head while still driving the students away from the class. With this act of the lecturer it was reported that one of the student started taking pictures this got the lecturer pissed off and drag the students by his belt to the front of his class ceasing his phone. With an unknown conversation between the lecturer and the student, the lecturer slapped the student triggering other students to rush down to the scene.
With the intervention of the security units, both the lecturer and the students involve in the case were questioned at the senate building. After which it was discover that the student in question was actually not taking any pictures or videos of the lecturer as non of these files was found on the student phone. This leads to the return of the student’s phone and released of the student.
Mr Abiodun Olanrewaju the university’s PRO addressedthe students in general giving kudos to them for demonstrating calmness in the course of the events. He went further to encourage them to always speak out when the need is demanded assuring the students that appropriate justice will be givenas it is now in the intrest of the school’s VC
The university CSO also thanked the students for cooperation and support through out thehappening. More investigation from the other students shows that the students were assured that justice will be passed rightly on the matter when their opinions were asked for after the incidents stating that
“ the management have resolved firmly to investigate the matter”
