MATCH BETWEEN OAU GIANTS AND AAUA LUMINARIES

The Obafemi Awolowo University Team (OAU Giants) played against The Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, 4th of August, 2021 at the  University Main Bowl.

 The semi-final match of the round of sixteen  was hosted by the OAU Giants and commenced by 4pm. About 2500 spectators were present.


After so many hard attempts which yielded no scores for each of the teams, the first-half of the match ended with an equal count of "NIL to NIL".


The match which was graced by some very important personalities in the society, such as The school Vice Chancellor Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede and many others.


Five minutes into the second half, an OAU Giant player named Olumuyiwa (10) skillfully struggled hard to get the ball into the AAUA's goalpost - It is a goal! The shout of joy was at it's height as OAU students expressed their excitement. At the OAU Giants' goal, trumpets were blown, shouts of jubilation were made.


Shortly after, the match continued. The struggle continued by both teams; There were many passes, dribbles, throws-in, fouls, free-kicks, and great attempts to let the ball into the goalposts just as good players would do, but all these were futile - no jubilation from either side until a fortune was thrown to the AAUA players as they equalised in injury time. This left a lot of frowns and sadness on many OAU Giants supporters. 


With the final whistle blown, the match was brought to a sad end for OAU Giants. AAUA's jubilation was to the roof because they had successfully knocked out OAU from the league.

NO CURFEW, EVERYTHING REMAINS INTACT IN LAGOS SAYS DR(MRS) JOKE SANWO-OLU

The wife of  Lagos State Governor, Dr( Mrs) Joke Sanwo-olu has taken to alert the general public contrary to misinformation  that curfew has not been announced in Lagos  State. She said "The state Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu dropped the idea of imposing a curfew in the state meant to allow the fumigation exercise of public space." Relying on expert advice the Governor said the disinfectant is non toxic, noting that the exercise has commenced. He said: I'm pleased to note that we have taken possession of over 200 disinfecting machines, and starting today, we will be disinfecting all major highways, bus stops, markets, parks and other public areas." The Death Of The Yoruba Monarch Alaafin of Oyo

                             The demise of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who was said to have died    April 22, 2022 at Afe Babalola Multi-System Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, AMSH has thrown the Yoruba race into mourning. According to sources at the hospital, the king who was 83 years old was brought into the hospital and was been treated of a chronic illness five days before his death. Though at some point in time of the news being spread, there was confusion over the validity of the news on social media as a result of the statement made by the king’s Media and Publicity Director, Bode Durojaye where he urged members of the public to disregard the news of the king’s death saying the paramount ruler is hale and healthy.
