Govt seeks probe as five killed in Kaduna fresh attack


Some bandits have invaded Madamai village in Kagoro Chiefdom, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing five persons.
The bandits were also said to have razed nine houses, three vehicles, while one vehicle was vandalized.
The Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the attack in a statement on Sunday.
He listed the names of those killed as Janet Yakubu, Gambo Yakubu, Jonathan Adamu, Mrs Monday and Humphrey Barnabas.
He said the acting governor of the state, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, condemned the attack and appealed for calm.
The Commissioner said, “Acting Governor Hadiza Balarabe has described as shocking and inhuman, an attack which left five residents dead in Kaura LGA.
“This came after troops of Operation Safe Haven reported to the Kaduna State Government that Madamai village in Kagoro Chiefdom, Kaura LGA, was attacked by unidentified assailants. Five people were killed, and nine houses, as well as three vehicles were burnt, while one vehicle was vandalised.
“The Acting Governor also appealed to residents to remain calm, and directed security agencies to conduct thorough investigations into the incident.”
