UNKNOWN GUNMEN KIDNAP TRAVELLERS ALONG BENIN-AUCHI ROAD


Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly kidnapped travellers on Benin -Auchi road and routes linking Esan communities in Edo State over the weekend.
Investigation revealed that most victims were those who travelled for marriage, burial and other social ceremonies to the affected areas.

The worst hit was the Benin-Ehor-lruekpen routes as several persons were allegedly kidnapped between Friday 30th July 2021 and 1st August 2021.

The wife of one of the victims revealed the kidnap of her husband in her church along Siluko road in Benin city on Sunday requesting the pastors and members of the congregation to intercede for the release of her husband in prayers.

The woman who was said to have been in tears was lamenting how she will be able to raise ransom if the kidnappers finally call.

The police are yet to make any comment on the incident as calls to the PPRO’s lines were not going through.

                             The demise of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who was said to have died    April 22, 2022 at Afe Babalola Multi-System Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, AMSH has thrown the Yoruba race into mourning.
